HOW YOU CAN HELP

Most privileged kids in Malibu don't have a better after-school experience today than the students at Gompers. That being said, it is equally impressive because it isn't as if we have the best facilities. The school district has been cutting everything they can to spare cutting teachers - which is right, you need teachers more than anybody.

Imagine a room littered with debirs and broken celing tiles that had fallen down with no janitor available to clean up the mess, nor a broom to be located. The area needed to be clean in order to practice, and with no garbage can around, we found a poster and used it to sweep all of the debris out of the way into a corner while the students put down the mats.

When it comes to the safety of our students we take it very seriously. Over time the wear and tear we put on our mats require us to purchase new mats in order to ensure the proper safety precautions are being taken and that the equipment used during our Judo lessons is up to date. With your donation we will be able to buy new mats and continue to ensure our students safety.

Judogi is the formal Japanese name for the traditional uniform used for Judo practice and competition. In keeping with this tradition/discipline, we strive to provide our students with the most authentic experience. With your donation we can provide our students with the appropriate Judo uniform.

Like any good after school program we require a bit of funding. We make do with what we have but sometimes we just need a little more. With your generous donations we can help enrich these students lives and provide them with a program they could not afford on their own.
